Located on 116 beautiful acres in Houston County, MN, Camp Winnebago lends itself to many of nature’s finest activites: hiking our bluffs and trails, fishing for trout in the winnebago Creek, camping out at Hidden Hope Island, and canoeing at the pond.
We also have a swimming pool, barn and nature building, sports field, picnic area, music and crafts rooms, a large dining hall and modern cabins.
A network of sidewalks and ramps make for easy access to all camp buildings and program areas.

We are a private, non-profit organization established and dedicated to serving the recreational needs of adults and children with mental retardation and other developmental disabilities.
All individuals with mental retardation and other developmental disabilities, six years of age and older are eligible to attend.
Our goal is to enhance, through a diversity of experiences, the self-worth, independence, and quality of life for people with mental retardation and other developmental disabilities.

Our camp staff is Camp Winnebago’s strongest asset. This dedicated and enthusiastic group of young people is specifically recruited and trained to work with individuals with developmental disabilities.
The vast majority of our camp staff are special education majors at Winona State University - Winona, MN.
Our camper to staff ratio is approximately two to one, although other arrangements maybe made based on an individual ability level, to ensure a quality experience.
