Brief History...
On November 2, 1977 a notice was mailed to prospective members announcing the formation of a new Lions Club in the
Winona Area. The first regular meeting of the Winona Sunset Lions Club was held at Sambo’s restaurant on November 7th,
1977. Lion Mark Swart was elected president of the 26 charter members. Lion Ed Gott and Lion Dave Sauer of the
Winona Noon Lions were our Guiding Lights.
